Mrs. Sorensen is prepping to go teach at Twin Cedars for second semester. We are sad to see her go but know the Sabers will love her just as much as we do! Good luck Mrs. Sorensen!


the 7th grade students have been making catapults in Mr. Templeton's science class. They are demonstrating ways to convert energy.

11th/12th NOVEMBER Student of the Month
Leadership: Jenna Mickey
Jenna goes out of her way to build relationships with junior high students and spends time supporting them both in and out of school. She listens and takes time to show compassion to younger kids who are struggling and steps up when asked to do something, without complaining.
Citizenship: Kael Caikoski
Kael went above and beyond helping after the Halloween Chemistry show and after the exploding pumpkins. He came back to help put stuff away and carry items. He went out of his way to make sure that everything was taken care of.
Academics: Paetyn Anderson
Paetyn is a very self motivated student who takes initiative and tries her best in the classroom. She is involved in peer mentoring at the elementary, and she willingly helps others when needed.





9th/10th NOVEMBER Student of the Month
Leadership: Sydney Busick
Sydney has a bubbly personality and is always willing to help out others. She's always there to cheer others on at sporting events and in the other school events or groups she participates in.
Citizenship: Lotty Nolte
Lotty makes good choices, even when no one is looking. She encourages others to do what is right and stands up for what she believes in.
Academics: Danni Enfield
Danni is always working hard in her classes. She will push herself when she struggles until she figures it out.

Leadership: Alivia Smith
Alivia demonstrates great leadership qualities. She is a good role model who does the right things and is a great student.
Citizenship: Harper Rogers
Harper is respectful to those around her at all times. She is a pleasure to have in class and will always help out someone in need.
Academics: Anna Kirfman
Anna is such a hard worker. She really cares about the quality of work that she turns in and wants to excel. She is not afraid of a challenge and works very hard!

A few FBLA members were able to attend the Career Specific Event at Wells Fargo. We were able to have a behind the scenes look at hockey game operations for the Iowa Wild. We received a tour of the facility and even met Crash!

MD/SEW Boys Wrestling travel to Central Decatur 12-19


Debra Kearney from Dan-D Farms came to Floriculture class to teach students how to make Evergreen centerpieces. The centerpieces will be located around town again this year at local businesses. Students always enjoy this hands-on experience.




Tampa Bay Ray's Pitcher Duncan Davitt spoke with the physics class and the High-School Baseball team about the physics of pitching and playing baseball. Duncan pitched for the University of Iowa and now is playing for the Tampa Bay Ray's. Thank you Duncan for talking with our students!!
