Mason stepped up this year to play basketball and did a great job on the court. He always is willing to do what is asked of him with a smile on his face.

Elementary Spring Picture Day is Tuesday, March 5th. An email has been sent with more information.


Music Dept. Spring Dates:
Mother Nature helped us decide to move our spring program/concert dates from March to April this year. This additional month will give us much needed rehearsal time. We hope you can make it to see all the musicianship of our K-12 students!


FBLA students participated in the District Leadership Conference and did a wonderful job. All placed in at least 2 competitions and we are so proud of them!






The following calendar changes were approved at the Board Meeting Tuesday night:
The three days listed will now be school days; please add them to your calendar.

* April 2nd
The remaining three snow days will be made-up at the end of the year as originally planned. Therefore, the last day of school, pending no more missed days, is now scheduled to be Tuesday, May 21st with a 2-hour early dismissal (1:17 Elementary; 1:30 JH/HS).

Eleven MD FFA members competed at sub district events in Pella today. We had seven in Conduct of meetings, three in Program of Activities and one in Creed Speaking. Congratulations to all of them for stepping out of their comfort zone and participating in events!


MD Speech performed at the Bluegrass Conference contest today at Twin Cedars. Izzy Carter got a one and earned the Outstanding award in her category, Poetry. Brenya Johnson also got a one, and Jorja Gravett and Sydney Busick got twos. The individuals will perform at districts on Saturday at Montezuma. Great work today and best of luck to all of them this weekend!

National FFA week is next week.
Both buildings are welcome to participate in the dress up days!

Academics: Izzy Carter
Izzy is an excellent student who almost never misses school. She asks awesome questions and makes sure those around her also understand what is going on.
Citizenship: Brooklyn Metz
Brooklyn is a student who is willing to stand up for what is right and will help others around her make the right choices. She has a positive attitude and is always willing to help out when needed.

9th/10th January Student of the Month
Academics: Samaya Murillo
Samaya always works hard during class and isn't afraid to ask for additional help, if needed. She uses her class time appropriately.
Leadership: Emma Ripperger
Emma has been an awesome manager for the basketball team. She is always willing to help out wherever she can with a smile on her face.
Citizenship: Brenya Johnson
Brenya was given a special art project to complete for a teacher and was super enthusiastic about it. The finished product is awesome and means a ton to the teacher.

7th/8th Student of the Month
Academics: Colter Cox
Colter has been focused in school and does his best to stay on task by asking and answering questions. He doesn't hesitate to help others.
Leadership: Owen Crook
Owen leads by example which encourages his classmates to do the same. He has been doing great at keeping himself on task, working well with others, and being creative in the classroom. He is showing how a student should behave while still having fun.
Citizenship: Jonathan Roder
Jonathan shows respect to his fellow students and staff in the building at all times. He participates in class and maintains a positive attitude. Jonathan is an excellent example of choosing to do the right thing in the classroom no matter what his peers are doing around him.
