NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Melcher Dallas Community School District Board of Education will meet in the Library at the Junior/Senior High School, 214 SW Main St., Melcher Dallas, IA 50163 on March 21st, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. for a hearing on the proposed plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimated total cost of the following public improvement:

Melcher Dallas Community School District – Junior/Senior High School hazardous material removal. Specifications prepared by Atlas dated July 12, 2021.

Project consists of a single Prime Contractor Package: Bid Package #1 – Hazardous Material Removal

A public hearing will be conducted at a meeting to be held in the Library at the Junior/Senior High School, 214 SW Main St., Melcher Dallas, IA 50163 on March 21st, 2022, at 5:05 p.m., for a hearing on bid results and award recommendations.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: That sealed bids will be received at the Melcher Dallas Community School District – Junior/Senior High School, 214 SW Main St., Melcher Dallas, IA 50163, until 2:00 p.m. CST on the 16th day of March 2022. Bids received after this time will not be accepted. Bids will be publicly opened in the school’s Library/Media Center and read aloud at the above noted time. All bidders are welcome to attend.

Prior to submission of Bids, a pre-bid conference and site tour will be held for all Bidders considering a bid on the Melcher Dallas Community School District – Junior/Senior High School hazardous material removal project to review the general requirements and answer questions regarding the project. This conference will be held on Tuesday, March 8th, 2022, at 3:00 PM. Please meet at the Melcher Dallas Community School District – Junior/Senior High School, 214 SW Main St., Melcher Dallas, IA 50163.

Target dates: start work May 26th, 2022, complete work June 15th, 2022.

Project consists of a single Prime Contractor Package: Bid Package #1 – Hazardous Material Removal

Specifications governing the proposed work have been prepared by Atlas of Des Moines, IA. Bidding Documents will be available on March 1st, 2022. Specifications and Bid Forms for the project are available at Action Reprographics, 5037 NE 14th St, Des Moines, IA 50313. Alternatively, Bid Documents can be viewed at actionrepro.com. Project Documents will be loaned to qualified bidders upon receipt of either a Master Builders of Iowa non-cash deposit card, or a check for twenty-five dollars ($25.00) per set. Deposit checks will be refunded if documents are returned to Beeline and Blue within fourteen (14) days after the bid due date. Checks are to be made out to Action Repro.

Bid security in the amount of 10% of the total bid must accompany each Bid in accordance with the Instruction to Bidders. The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in an amount equal to the Bid, guaranteeing faithful performance of the Contract. No bidder may withdraw its bid for a period of sixty [60] business days after the date and hour set for opening of bids.

The award of the contract may be made by the Melcher Dallas Community School District to any responsive, responsible bidder or bidders offering suitable supplies, equipment and/or service at the lowest price taking into consideration the quality of material or service in the best interest of the Melcher Dallas Community School District. The right is reserved to reject any and all bids, or any part thereof, and to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract as shall be deemed in the best interest of the Melcher Dallas Community School District.
