Melcher-Dallas Athletic Hall of Fame Committee Accepting Nominations for the 2027 Athletic Hall of Fame Class
The Melcher-Dallas School District Athletic Hall of Fame committee is accepting applications for the class of 2027 through August 15, 2026.
The district announced the creation of a new Athletic Hall of Fame, which honors former athletes, coaches, teams, administrators and patrons for excellence in Melcher-Dallas athletics in 2025. Melcher-Dallas recognized the inaugural class on January 23, 2026. The inductees were Travis Branson, Jeff Fee, J’Lyn Knutson, Beth Mathes, Jim Crozier, Jerry Pezzetti, Lary Willoughby and the 1967 football team.
Nomination forms, either an online form or a downloadable form, are available on the district’s website, https://www.melcher-dallascsd.org/mdhof. Paper nomination forms are also available at the District and School offices. Nominations will only be considered with a completed form and are valid for three years.
The district established nomination criteria for each category of nominees —player, coach, administrator, contributor/patron and team. A player nominee must be a graduate of Melcher-Dallas High School and out of school for at least four years. They also must have received all-conference and/or all-state recognition in their respective sport and contributed at a high level both in athletics and in the community.
Coach and administrator nominees must have been in their respective roles at Melcher-Dallas for a minimum of ten years. Nominees can only be submitted after they have left their positions. A coach, administrator or contributor/patron nominee must have contributed to the development of athletics in an outstanding way. A team nomination must be an accomplished group.
