One of the Melcher-Dallas District’s partners in education is Training Wheels Driver’s Education, which is owned and operated by Cindy Hauschildt, a 35-year educator. Training Wheels offers year-round classes in Marion and surrounding counties. 

Top 5 Facts

  1. Students can enroll anytime when it’s convenient, with a valid Iowa permit required for registration. 

  2. The classes consist of 30 online lessons, and 6 driving lessons. Upon successful completion, a copy of the student’s certificate will be added to the IDOT system (digital upload).

  3. In June, there’s transportation available for driving lessons from the school; otherwise, student driver lessons originate from Pella or Knoxville.

  4. In Iowa, eligibility for free or reduced-price meals extends to Driver’s Education fee assistance.

  5. It is recommended that students have 10 hours of driving time prior to driving lessons.
