Saints go into last varsity football game, reflecting about the season.

The Melcher-Dallas Saints lost their last game to Moravia 22-55, Friday, October 4, putting them at 2-5 on the season. They take on BGM for their last varsity game of the season tonight, October 11.
Brody Johnson, Ryan Heaton, and Rocky Johnson all agree that blocking has been a big struggle and could have been a turning point in some close games with Rocky saying “blocking could have gone better, we have the skill guys to make plays happen. We just need more time.” Heaton also thinks snapping the ball accurately has been a struggle this year.
Brody claimed “at halftime, coach emphasizes to block more because there wasn't much in the first half.”
Hunter DeGard said the coach talked a lot about playing with your heart, and the score doesn't matter whether you're winning or losing. Rocky commented that the coach emphasized giving it your all at halftime and not giving up. “We come out of the second half fired up because of his good pep talks.”
Ryan and Brody believe in order to improve their record next year, people need to start getting in the weight room and taking it seriously. Brody also thought that they needed to work on blocking techniques. Rocky said “Everyone needs to start giving it their all in practice to improve next year.”
Some key plays Heaton remembered were when he ran an end-around for about 40-50 yards, his first touchdown against Murray, Reece Chiabotta getting 2 or 3 touchdowns against Mormon Trail, and all the other touchdowns this season.
Brody remembered Heaton stealing his touchdown against Moravia. DeGard remembered Reece Chiabotta catching a ball over somebody from Mormon Trail, Rocky Johnson's first touchdown, and his sack against Murray. Rocky remembered his first ever touchdown and catching a pass over somebody's head.
Heaton said that some things they are going to bring from last Friday into tonight vs. BGM are people playing new positions. Rocky claimed that he’s going to try his hardest and do what Melcher-Dallas does. DeGard said that last Friday he did well on the defensive line, was in the backfield a lot, and also contained well.
The game is tonight at BGM, and starts at 7:00 PM.
