Saints Powerlifting Club

Welcome to the Melcher-Dallas Saints Powerlifting Club site.

This site was designed to provide our athletes with an online location to use for workouts, speed and agility training for specific sports, and to track weight lifting progress.

Our weight lifting club exists to allow students additional workouts and competition opportunities for their sport.  It provides students with the opportunity to learn weightlifting, fitness and health skills and improve their overall health.  Our goal is also to provide a fundraising opportunity to assist those students who attend weightlifting sessions and to buy more items needed and replacement in our weight room.
Membership qualifications:
Middle school or high school student
Levels of Membership:
-  Maroon Saint (500 lbs. club)
-  Iron Saint (750 lbs. club)
-  Ultimate Saint (1,000 lbs. club)
How to Qualify for each club:
-  Powerlifters will be required to bench, squat and power-clean for a total weight
to qualify for membership in the maroon, iron or ultimate saint categories. 

What incentives are given for each membership level:
-  T-shirt per level
-  Record boards
-  Picture on this website

Weight Room Rules:
Always use a spotter / find a partner and lift with him during the summer!
-  Use proper form and technique.  It is not about how much you can lift, its about what you are getting out of your lift.
-  Always wear a weight belt in all core lifts or when lower back is stressed.
-  Breathe in and out on each rep.
-  No sitting allowed in the weight room (except for certain lifts)
-  Always be ready to help and encourage anyone who may need your help!
-  RETURN all weights to their proper storage area after use.
-  No equipment is allowed outside of the weight room.
-  Must have adult supervision when weight room is in use.
