Makerspace STEM Lab

What is a Makerspace STEM Lab?
Our STEM lab will be a combination of science, technology, engineering, and math with additional mix of art and creativity.  Our goal is to turn our standard art room into a classroom that supports STEM ideas where students can work on hands-on projects.  Projects such as a lego wall, coding and robotics, building electrical circuits, aeronautical simulators using drones and laptops, and smaller cardboard design projects.

A STEM lab is not solely a science lab, woodshop, computer lab or art room, but it may contain elements found in all of these familiar spaces. Therefore, our plan will be to accommodate a wide range of activities, tools and materials for grades PK - 5.Inserted Image

Camp Invention (Grades K - 6)

Students are presented with fun, hands-on challenges that encourage creative problem solving, teamwork, entrepreneurship, and innovation. Camp invention will be led by experienced local educators and new curriculum is introduced each year, inspired by the Inductees of the National Inventors Hall of Fame!  Once our STEM lab is financed and built this summer, we will introduce this camp during the summer months (one week increments).
